Our Tea straw is both a straw and a sieve to help strain smaller particles and sift through your tea drink. It's also suitable for other drinks such as Mate, Yerba, Green teas, Herbal teas and Loose teas. Made from premium quality stainless steel (specifically the premium #304 (18/8) grade stainless steel kind), our stainless steel straw strains while you drink! The submerged end is flared, with small holes or slots that allow the brewed liquid in, but block loose leaf teas and other mixtures.

What is Tea Straw?

A tea straw - also known as Bombilla in Spanish, a bomba in Portuguese, and a bombija or, more generally, a masassa (straw) in Arabic - is a type of drinking straw used to drink mate. The lower end acts as a metal filter due to its perforated finish. It is used to separate the mate infusion from leaves and stems and acts like a metal screen of most teapots.
